J.T. Williams

J.T. Williams

Instructor - LEAP

J.T. Williams is a career law enforcement officer with 35 years of experience.

J.T. started his career as a Security Police Officer in the United States Air Force in 1986. After the Air Force, J.T. worked for the United States Department of Energy as a Protective Force member securing the nuclear weapons of the United States.

In 2001, J.T. joined the Columbia County, Florida Sheriff’s Office. There, he rose through the ranks of the Patrol Division, Detective Division, and Internal Affairs Division, with his final position being a Lieutenant over the Patrol Division.

He left the Sheriff’s Office in 2016 to join the 3rd Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office as a Criminal Investigator, where he worked until 2022.

J.T. has been an adjunct instructor for the Basic Law Enforcement Academy at Florida Gateway College (FGC) since 2004, teaching general subjects and high liabilities.

He is also an adjunct professor for the Criminal Justice degree program at FGC where he teaches Criminal Law, and Criminal Justice Administration.

J.T. holds a Master’s degree in Criminology from Florida State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University.

During his career, he has successfully conducted countless investigations ranging from Theft and Burglary to Sexual Battery and Homicide.

J.T. is currently employed by TS Enterprises where he facilitates the training of civilian and law enforcement students in various firearms, active shooter, and other vital courses.

Joshua Green

Joshua Green

Instructor - LEAP

Joshua Green started his career in 2010 by enlisting in the United States Army and serving honorably as a cannon crewmember until 2014.

Once his Army commitment was fulfilled, he returned to Columbia County and enrolled into the Law Enforcement Academy at Florida Gateway College (FGC). In 2014, he was hired by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office as a Patrol Deputy.

Since working at the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, he has been assigned to several different teams and Divisions from Patrol, as a Deputy then supervisor, then to the Detective Division, and he is currently a Sergeant in the Internal Affairs Division.

Joshua served on the Highway Interdiction Unit and is still a vital member of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team.

Joshua has a passion for teaching and learning. He has been an adjunct Instructor at the Florida Gateway College Law Enforcement Academy since 2017.

He also conducts civilian firearms safety classes as an instructor for Focused Fire Training.

He has multiple instructor certifications including emergency vehicle operations, firearms, patrol rifle, and defensive tactics.

Joshua holds a Master of Science Degree and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice, both from Saint Leo University.
